I've dealt with this at some point or another. You tell someone that you're part-German, and what do they say? "Oh my god you're a Nazi!"
If you don't mind, I'll give you a little history lesson.
In World War II (1939 - 1945) Germany was known as the Third Reich (empire), otherwise known as Nazi Germany. Their leader, Adolf Hitler (1889 - 1945), believed in an "Aryan Race," which basically was a stereotyped person that he believed everyone in Europe should be: tall, robust, blond hair, blue eyes. The irony is that Hitler was not very tall, had black hair, and brown eyes. He targeted those who didn't fulfill the requirements of this "Aryan Race," including Jews. Hitler believed that Jews were a "poisonous race" and "murderers." As a result, the Holocaust began. The Holocaust involved the genocide of Jews and other ethnic groups in either concentration camps (such as Bergen-Belsen and Mauthausen) or death camps (such as Auschwitz-Birkenau). The Holocaust resulted in about 11,000,000 total people killed, with about 55% of them being Jews. Out of all the prisoners in these camps, only 174 lived, and 89 are still alive to this day.
Post-war, Germany banned all Nazi propaganda and abandoned their past Third Reich and became Die Bundesrepublik Deutschland (The Federal Republic of Germany), or Germany, as they are to this day.
What's the difference between today's Germans and Nazi Germans?
Simple...THEY HAVE TOTAL RESPECT FOR JEWS!
Don't jump to conclusions!
